A responsible design firm not only provides a good design & management work, it also needs to do follow up and after services.
See below, the feedback from our previous client, 8 months since we finished his office design project, and now we just helped them to buy more chairs...
Nice clients inspire the good design...
"Dear Joyce,

We spent our Chinese New Year holiday in Barcelona Spain for a 6 days field trip, to learn about Antoni Gaudi's work and also get inspirations from him.
Now we will post all the inspiring photos in no particular order of date, so this post is about the photos taken on the 4th day, about Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia & Casa Mila.

They are sensable and reasonable. They all know that not only the client benefits from a successful project, the designer & contractor do also --- because, a pleasant working cooperation to achieve a good result, will bring the designer & contractor a valuable memory. It may only be a few months in our life, but we need to treasure it.
Luckily, we have been doing a project recently, that we are proud to call “a good project”. Even though this project hasn’t met all the above requirements, as the designer, we have felt a pleasant and respectful atmosphere. And we believe, that we are creating the most unique wine cellar with a wine tasting house & lounge, in Hong Kong.

Here is a small office design, only 700 sqft on Hollywood Rd., beside Man Mo Temple.
Our client is from Australia and they are experts of environmental friendly products.
That's why we came up with this specially designed meeting area,it's also a showcase to displayall their products.
It turned out really cool, and matches the company concept as well.
It still needs some touch up, such as a company signage design and we have made a hole from the roof of the box, to hang something unique.
The same day that we took these photos, we participated in the HK DFA awards ceremony party. Although our project was not picked,it was a valuable experience for us to attend such a meaningful competition and support our effort. Our next year's goal is to meet their requirement for the competition even more:
A design that will change the life style in Asia!
This little office design, was just a test for us, such an organically designed showcase, using all environmentally friendly materials, to speak natural sounds to the world. Next, we hope we can find another project, that really speaks of our knowledge, and brings a new life style concept to Asia, of course:
Our valuable client, is a gift from god, letting us achieve this dream!
Work Hard! Make our dreams come true, and your dreams too!
let's work together!!!!

Tonight almost midnight, I took this photo in one of our sites --- office renovation project site (office projects need to be done over-night)...
This gentleman ( he is also the most experienced electrician) was in my camera lense, he has leukaemia...
I took the photo, justto show our client the sence of the site...but then I found that I took a good photo:
He seems to be dancing there....
Look at his position!
Look at that pose!
Look at that balance....
Look at the melody of his work...Look at the rythum of the night...
I feel so impressed with this photo...and I feel like posting it...
Cheers for the real hard worker in Hong Kong;
Salute for the spirit that they inspires us....

2. Joyce Baker Design Ltd. will definitely participate in the “DFAA-2010—Design for Asia Award”, and we will use the upstairs of Fresco as our 2010’s work…
YES, I have kept this project for so long until a few days ago I got my plentiful inspirations out…now the only thing I am worried, is if our contractor can carry out such original design? But I have faith…The project will be done in the mid of June---everyone, the slogan of this project will be “ spent the minimum amount of money within the minimum timeline ,to create visual enjoyment”

3D color perspectives, usually are not included in our design package, because:
-it takes a long time to do, and costs extra labour to complete.
-it doesn't show the exact color , material and lighting effects on the drawing, compared to reality, so it might cause some misunderstandings with our client, if they hold the 3D drawing, to judge the actual work.
-our design package fees are more reasonable, compared to other design & architectural firms, especially the number of times we provide for site visits and all the extra services. So we are afraid that we can't also include the 3D drawings as well.
But 3D drawing are also helpful for our client to understand the space plan and get a rough idea about the design style...So sometimes we are requested to make this kind of drawing.
Here are 4 different standard 3D perspective drawings that we usually provide to our clients, according to their request.
The following 4 drawings are in different sizes, and range from an easy simple rendering to the complicated style.
We can usually fix the drawings twice for our clients if they want to try some other materials or colors.
This is just for your reference, to show our skills
HK$3000 / per perspective:
HK$1500 / per perspective:

To help clients purchase air con, which is not included in the design firm’s service, but occasionally the contractor still would like to get involved in this. We therefore feel that we have the responsibility to help our clients in this matter.
We have recently received a few junk fax from other A/C experts regarding A/C unit prices & installation prices, so we have forwarded them to our clients and we received a nice comment from our client as follows:
“Thanks for the information, it certainly is good customer service that you guys do keep clients' budget in mind and try your best to keep the cost as close to the client budget as possible. From M.”
We would also like to publish one of these junk fax here, to give our clients a rough idea about all the costs.
Please note: that for the installation price, a Junk fax is just a rough quotation, and they will most likely increase the price a bit after visiting the site. Our contractor maybe a bit higher , however, because he knows the site situation more.
We always check all the prices from other companies , because we would like to make sure for the client, what the usual price is for different things in the market. This helps us compare for the client and make sure they can get the stuff they want at a reasonable price.
